Humanity in Action has its international headquarters in New York City, with additional staff in Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia.

As of 2014, the United States office also organizes the Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship, an annual graduate program in Europe and the United States. Beginning in 2015, the United States office also coordinates the John Lewis Fellowship in Atlanta, Georgia and the Philanthropy and Social Enterprise Fellowship in Detroit and New York. 

In the United States, Humanity in Action is responsible for selecting Fellows from American universities for the Humanity in Action Fellowship programs in Europe. It oversees the Lantos-Humanity in Action Congressional Fellowship, organizes the annual New York Conference and supports more than 500 American Senior Fellows. It also organizes occasional seminars, conferences and service initiatives focused on human and minority rights issues in the United States.

From 2006-2009, the international headquarters organized the Humanity in Action Fellowship in New York City.
