Pat Cox-Humanity in Action Fellowship

Who's eligible: Humanity in Action Senior Fellows, Humanity in Action 2017 Fellows and students and recent graduates from University College Cork

Each year, Humanity in Action brings together a small group of outstanding students and young professionals from around the world for three-month professional fellowships in the European Parliament and Brussels-based NGOs.

Participants in this program spend four days a week in the office of a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) or a Brussels-based NGO and one day at lectures and site visits. The program was founded in 2005 and has helped nearly 100 young people gain invaluable work experience at the European Parliament or with a Brussels-based NGO.

Fellows of the Pat Cox-Humanity in Action Fellowship have gone on to land terrific jobs and do extraordinary work. Some standout fellows of the program include:

  • Martine Alonso Marquis: A 2010 Pat Cox Fellow, Martine is now the Director of the Pat Cox-Humanity in Action Fellowship.
  • Tom Huddleston: A 2006 Pat Cox Fellow, Tom is now a policy analyst at the Migration Policy Group, a European think-and-do-tank.
